The Kahu
Waiwai is a fully equipped, air-conditioned 40 foot
Viking Sportfisher. She is powered by twin Detroit
Johnson and Towers 671’s, providing 620 horsepower.
On board you will find a full head including hot
shower and electric toilet. Her spacious galley
down design provides a full size refrigerator and
sink, with a grill available for on-board barbeques.
Don’t forget your tunes, the sound system is I-Pod
ready.
Our
fishing gear is top of the line. We use all Penn
VSW reels on custom rods that were wrapped along
with the outriggers by Joe Kimura, here on Oahu. The
Release Marine Fighting Chair is ready for you to
test your angling skills. Our lure collection is
comprised predominantly of Hawaiian made lures, many
from fishermen and craftsmen with years of
experience in these waters, whose treasures are not
available commercially.
The
legendary Captain Dudley Worthy, long time
Owner/Captain of Kahuna Kai Sportfishing out of
Kewalo Basin on Oahu, has been a significant part of
the Kahu Waiwai Team since day 1. His expert
guidance and advice has led to the Kahu Waiwai being
the premier charter boat in east Oahu.
